O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou, Romeo? | Movie News

“Two households, both alike in dignity,

In fair Verona, where we lay our scene.

Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare

Chorus 1, Stanza 1&2

When the star-crossed lovers of two enemy families meet, forbidden love ensues… I mean, if you are not familiar with William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet by now…

ImagePrepare yourself for October 11, 2013, we will be getting a new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s, Romeo and Juliet. The cast for is very well put together, and they are all very attractive!

Haliee Steinfeld (Juliet), got her big break as the co-lead in 2010’s True GritImage

Douglas Booth (Romeo) is not very well known, the only major film we would recognize is LOL starring Miley Cyrus. Image

Damian Lewis (Lord Capulet, Juliet’s father) is well known for Homeland, and Band of BrothersImage

Ed Westwick (Tybalt) well… he is Chuck BassImage

In my personal opinion, it looks like they did a fabulous job bringing one of my most beloved classics onto the big screen. There will always be differences, there will always be something someone doesn’t like, but remember it is an adaptation. There is room for flexibility, as long as the heart isn’t changed.

But in all seriousness, go read the book, first. I will provide you with a link, so there are no excuses. Romeo and JulietIf you can’t seem to hack reading the book (shame on you), then I recommend watching the Leonardo DiCaprio/Claire Danes version.

Enjoy the trailer!
